Welcome to Pack 1864!

We are the best Cub Scout Pack in the area and invite any 1st through 5th grade boys to join us. Our Pack has about 90 boys organized by dens. Each den usually has 8 –12 boys of the same grade level. Boys may join at any grade, whether or not they’ve been scouts before. Scouting is fun with a purpose: learning respect for themselves and others while developing a strong character. Pack 1864 is dedicated to a lively Cub Scout experience with activities that capture the interest of boys yet are fun for the entire family.

Our dens -

  • 1st graders are Tigers
  • 2nd graders are Wolves
  • 3rd graders are Bears
  • 4th and 5th graders are Webelos

Our affiliations –

  • Truro Homes Association is our charter organization.
  • Pack 1864 is in the Patriot District of the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Posted on Jul 26 2017 - 3:03pm

Thanks to Hans Hirsch for all of the hard work he did in coordinating this great Summer experience for our younger scouts. Not only did our pack have a great time, but Hans' volunteering at the Day Camp all week allowed boys from all over the Patriot District to enjoy this wonderful event. Here are a few pictures.

Opportunity for orienteering training from the Quantico Orienteering Club posted by Chip Becker

Posted on Jul 22 2017 - 1:04pm

For those who don't know, orienteering is a sport that combines land navigation and compass skills into a timed race. It is a great way to build up confidence in navigating in the woods, while also a great opportunity to spend some time in the outdoors. It is a sport that is frequently enjoyed by both single runners and entire families out with young children. Some of our Webelos and AOLs got a taste of orienteering at Goshen this year. In case they, or anyone else, is interested in learning more advanced skills, the local orienteering club in our area is offering beginner training for two upcoming weekends.

Pack 1864 Wins Honorable Mention at the Fairfax 4th of July Parade!

Posted on Jul 14 2017 - 8:35pm

Thanks to Mr. Jobie Turner for getting our Pack organized for the Fairfax City 4th of July Parade! And thank you to all of the scouts, parents, friends and family members who were able to join us while representing Pack 1864 in such a positive award winning manner! We had a legion of strong supporters, fantastic flag bearers, terrific tumblers, dynamic dancers (sort of) and handed out lots of candy to many appreciative children along the way. Just click on the "Photo Albums" tab on our Pack web site to enjoy a sampling of the great photos as we celebrated our nation's independence.
