Welcome to Pack 1864!

We are the best Cub Scout Pack in the area and invite any 1st through 5th grade boys to join us. Our Pack has about 90 boys organized by dens. Each den usually has 8 –12 boys of the same grade level. Boys may join at any grade, whether or not they’ve been scouts before. Scouting is fun with a purpose: learning respect for themselves and others while developing a strong character. Pack 1864 is dedicated to a lively Cub Scout experience with activities that capture the interest of boys yet are fun for the entire family.

Our dens -

  • 1st graders are Tigers
  • 2nd graders are Wolves
  • 3rd graders are Bears
  • 4th and 5th graders are Webelos

Our affiliations –

  • Truro Homes Association is our charter organization.
  • Pack 1864 is in the Patriot District of the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
  • Our Pack Meetings are typically held once per month at the Wakefield Forest Elementary School.

Scouting For Food Success: 1,135 Pounds of Food !

Posted on Nov 11 2017 - 4:03pm

Thank you to all scouts and parents who helped with our Scouting For Food Drive the last two weeks! The Scouting For Food Drive is one of the largest annual food drives in the D.C. metropolitan area. Pack 1864 collected a total estimated 1,135 pounds of food. More than 30 million Americans, including six million children go hungry at some time every month. The Capital Area Food Bank relies on the food we collected to help stock their shelves for the upcoming holiday months, when food demands are the greatest. So your efforts are both greatly needed and appreciated! Your commitment to community service and helping others in need is truly amazing!

Scouting For Food - Anyone Have A Pickup Truck or Van?

Posted on Nov 5 2017 - 7:49am

We need a couple of volunteers with a pick up truck (or van). Helping others in need is a very big part of being a Scout. So on November 11th we will be picking up the bags we distributed yesterday (hopefully with donated food items) and delivering them to the Wakefield Forest Elementary School for consolidation, and then delivery to the central collection point for all of our Cub Scout District. If you can volunteer the use of a pick up truck to help deliver to the central collection point (Safeway in Burke) please contact our Scouting for Food Coordinator, Mr Keith Nix, (htnnix@hotmail.com).

Thank You To The Fairfax County Police Honor Guard!

Posted on Oct 28 2017 - 11:44pm

Pack 1864 extends its sincere appreciation to the Fairfax County Police Honor Guard for the time and consideration they showed to us during our American flag retirement ceremony and new Cub Scout ceremony on Saturday evening. These men and women volunteered thier own time to be with us! Unsurprisingly, they were exceptionally professional and added great honor to our event. Their service and generosity demonstrates the true character of the Fairfax County Police Department and are virtues we work to instill in all of our scouts.
